About SEED

SEED Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit, incorporated society whose goal is the betterment of tennis in NZ.

SEED stands for Spot, Encourage, Enhance and Develop and it's purpose is to provide total support (both financial and ‘off-court’) to enable exceptional, emerging NZ tennis talent to fulfil their potential.

SEED Foundation was founded and is governed by a group of passionate and experienced tennis officials, players and business people.  SEED is the only organisation in New Zealand that can provide a pathway for emerging players that require a minimum of US$120,000 per annum to compete.

SEED has international ambassadors that perform an advisory and networking role internationally.

Our Mission

The SEED Foundation’s mission is to resource exceptional NZ tennis talent. This will enable the selected players to maximise their potential with consequential cascading benefit to the sport in NZ.

How does SEED work?

  • SEED searches for and identifies both male and female NZ tennis players from all around the world
  • SEED support helps ensure New Zealand players represent New Zealand rather than being picked up by other countries
  • When SEED has sufficient funds a player is invited to be a recipient of SEED support.
