Past SEED Recipients
Marina Erakovic
In 2008 at just 20 years of age Marina Erakovic had an impressive year, making her career debut into the World's Top 100 in March and rising to a career-high ranking of number 49 in the world.Her ranking is (WTA) #174.
Erakovic reached the semi-finals of the ASB Classic in Auckland – her first at Tour-level – and won ITF Women's Circuit events in Mildura, Australia and Surbiton, England, bringing her ITF career singles title tally to nine. Marina in the same year lost her second round match at the French Open and her third round match at Wimbledon. Marina has also won 4 WTA Doubles titles with a career high doubles ranking of number 43, and has earned career prize money of more than US$430,000.
Erakovic's successes have not gone unnoticed and she has enjoyed considerable media attention during this period.
In March 2009 Marina unfortunately suffered a left hip stress reaction while competing in the USA. After four months of rehabilitation in Auckland, Marina began the process of regaining her fitness before returning to the circuit to try and regain her 2008 ranking.
